ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE
Adding metadata is one of the most time-consuming tasks when it comes to working with a digital asset management system. Using AIs in order to add metadata will cut back time-related costs and save time overall.
According to a study from 2020:
-
6% of DAM users have already invested in AI technology for metadata. Although, 100% of them are planning to implement AIs in the future. This will result in their overall DAM value increasing and cut back time and time-related costs.
-
It also shows that 75% of DAM users do not have a specific timeframe for when they would implement this technology. This suggests that these users may be waiting for the technology to further improve before fully investing (Widerberg 2021).
AIs are continuously improving and will eventually be able to recognize more subjects and data over time.
CONFIGURATION
Digital Asset Management does not only focus solely on customization alone. Modern day products are more configurable and flexible. These products able to connect quicker with third party applications. Instead of a lack of customization, it means that personalized customization is less needed as DAM works well already with the company infrastructure. Configuration may be time consuming at first, but it is a one time investment that will provide flexibility to adapt to your products and requirements (The future of dam 2020).

CROSS PLATFORM INTEGRATION
Predictions show that DAM has the potential to integrate with other digital media resources. This will enhance their existing workflow and boost productivity levels across different users or companies. DAM caters to different industries such as catering, corporates, PR agencies, museums, etc. Therefore, expanding the market demand for DAM system solutions and integrating them will allow for higher productivity and will amplify the current workflow (Digital Asset Management n.d.).
ABOUT THE
FUTURE
DAM
The Digital Asset Management system solutions have had a progressive evolution over the past few years. As the digital asset flow increases per year, the future of DAM is bright and expandable. As companies demand more efficient ways to store and leverage all their assets, the system is required to move forward.

"With the evolution of digital asset management comes the evolution of the entire digital business ecosystem. Companies that hope to improve their key metrics in the future will need to adapt to the expanding nature of the technology. Those who do can expect a bright future, complete with more cost effective processes and higher marketing ROIs." (The Future of DAM 2020)
